AMES (WHO) -

An Iowa State football fan will live to see another season -- thanks to a student's heroic actions.

While attempting leave a parking after the Cyclones' game against Northern Iowa, Don Anderson suffered a heart attack behind the wheel. Luckily for him, Will Tangney, a computer engineering student, was there when it happened.

Will pulled Don from the moving vehicle and quickly began CPR until police and medics arrived.

Don underwent successful surgery and met Will for the first time Thursday, four months after the incident.

"I've never felt anything like it," said Tangney. "It's just a strange feeling. It's like 'wow I really made a difference in that person's life.'"

"Will had a lot more to do with the great things that happened that day than anyone on the field," said Anderson.

Will and four Iowa State police officers recently received life saving awards from the Iowa State University Police Department.
