Legendary TV actor Alan Thicke had died of a heart attack. He was 69 years old.

His death was first reported by TMZ, and confirmed by a publicist to NBC news.

Thicke was reportedly playing hockey with his 19-year-old son when he suffered the heart attack.

The Canadian-born actor was known for his role on Growing Pains, as well as his musical work for several other TV shows.

"So sad is the passing of Alan Thicke," comedian Bob Saget said. "Such a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace dear Alan."

Thicke last appeared on an episode during the second season of "Fuller House," which debuted last Friday on Netflix.

Celebrities outside of comedy also offered their condolences.

"Had the pleasure of meeting Alan Thicke and his amazing wife Tanya a few years back," singer Demi Lovato said. "My thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Thicke is the father of pop musician Robin Thicke. Thicke leaves behind wife Tanya Callau and three children.
