Posted: Updated:

Kevin Charyszyn scored the game winner in overtime as the Waterloo Black Hawks scooted past Sioux City 3-2 on Friday night.

Waterloo opened the scoring in the first period as Ace Cowans left the puck off for a trailing Hank Sorenson. Sorenson hammered a slap shot past the keeper for a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. Sioux City answered to tie it up at the end of the first period.

Shane Bowers gave the Black Hawks a 2-1 lead after the second period, but an early Sioux City goal in the third eventually sent the game to overtime setting up Charyszyn's game winner.

Waterloo's Robbie Beydoun finished the game with 27 saves.
