Game day is still more than three weeks away---but the Iowa Hawkeyes and Florida gators are beginning to direct their focus to the Outback Bowl.

Today both coaches --Florida's Jim McElwan---and the Hawkeyes' Kirk Ferentz were in Tampa to meet with the media and talk about the upcoming bowl game.

Coach Ferentz is taking his fifth Hawkeye team to the Outback Bowl--and this will be the third time the hawks will play Florida..with the Hawks and gators splitting the first two meetings.

The Hawkeyes enter the bowl season on a roll...winning their final three games of the regular season --while the Gators lost to Florida State and Alabama in the SEC title game in their last two outings.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, "It's amazing I think in all of our bowl games since I have been back --we have been the underdogs--I'm sure it is going to be that way this time around as well --We kind of play a lot of home teams it seems to pan out that way and if you look at Florida storied history going from 1990 on the amount of wins they had the rankings--SEC Championships and SEC Championship games and they have been in the Championship game the last two years Jim has done a great job since they have been over the program we know we are going up against a great traditional foe that is talented and well coached."

The Outback Bowl is January 2nd in Tampa, Florida.
