DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Police in Dubuque say they have a man in custody on a drug charge following a case of shots fired last night.

Dubuque police say they responded to a report of shots fired Tuesday at 10:53 p.m. in the 1300 block of Iowa Street. Near that location, officers found shell casings and what looked to be bullet marks on the pavement. No one was hurt and no property damage was reported in the aftermath of the shots.

Police also say traffic camera footage helped determine that the shots came from an apartment belonging to 30-year-old Derrick Mace. After attaining a search warrant, officers say they found two handguns, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Mace's apartment. Mace was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, a Felony offense. He's currently being held in the Dubuque County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

The Dubuque Police Department says this is the 24th confirmed report of shots fired in the city this year, down from 33 confirmed reports at this point in 2015.
