The Linn Country Grand Jury's decision whether or not Cedar Rapids police officer Lucas Jones was justified in shooting Jerime "Danky" Mitchell, will be revealed this afternoon.

According to police reports, on November 1, Mitchell had started some sort of altercation with Jones at a traffic stop when Jones fired his gun at Mitchell.

Friends say Mitchell is now paralyzed from the neck down.

With little information about the incident has led many to protest for police to release the dash cam video.

The grand jury consisted of seven randomly drawn members of the community. It would take votes from five of the seven to return a formal charge against Jones.

Linn County Attorney Jerry Vander Sanden will conduct the press conference at 2:30 p.m. at the Linn County Courthouse, where the decision will be announced.
