East Buchanan School Bond vote passes

Posted: Updated:

The vote passed with 592 yes (62.9%) to 350 no (37.1%)

Today, voters decide on a nearly $6.5 million bond in the East Buchanan School District.

If the bond passes, the district would build a new industrial technology facility, a safe/multipurpose room built to withstand a tornado. The room could also be used for recess when the weather keeps students inside. The district is also planning a fine arts and athletic addition.

Last fall the District proposed an $8.2 million project to improve facilities. A $7.2 million dollar bond was presented to the public. The vote failed at 48%. The district worked to lower the price this time around.
