A Hiawatha man is arrested for charges possibly tied to a death in Hiawatha. According to court records, 32-year old Joseph Hubbard who was arrested for separate charges, lived at the same home of 56-year-old Deborah Roman who was found dead in her Hiawatha home Friday morning.

Police discovered 56-year-old Deborah Roman's body in her home at 213 Sunset Lane in Hiawatha on Friday.

The same morning Roman's body was discovered, police arrested a man walking naked about a mile from the scene. According to police, 32-year-old Joseph Hubbard was walking around naked on the 700 block of Center Point Road.

According to court records, Hubbard lived in the home with Roman at 213 Sunset Lane in Hiawatha.

Neighbors on Sunset Lane say they didn't know Roman, and that she kept to herself.

"We would drive by and we would see her out sometimes tending to her garden," said neighbor Dillon Beener. "But other than that, no."

Others in the area echoed Beener's same reaction, saying they never spoke with Roman.

"She kept to herself a lot," said Beener.

Police say Hubbard's arrest lead to the discovery of Roman's body, but have not charged Hubbard in connection with her death.

According to the criminal complaint, Hubbard broke into New Beginnings church on Boyson road Friday morning where he stripped and poured gasoline inside. He later punched a man at the church in the face. Police later found his clothes doused in gasoline inside the shed of the church.

Hubbard has been charged with arson, burglary and assault.

Hiawatha police would not say whether Hubbard is being looked at as a possible suspect in Roman's death. Although they lived together, police would not give any more information about the relationship between Hubbard and Roman.

Police have conducted an autopsy on Roman to better understand a cause of death.
