A large Christmas display is not only spreading holiday cheer but it's allowing the community to give back to a family who lost their father in a motorcycle accident.

Tim Martin was killed in September leaving behind with wife Heather and their five children.

The Christmas display stretches across multiple lawns in Fairfax.

For years the neighborhood has been decorating but this year is different because a local family will be spending their first Christmas without their father.

It's something that has inspired the neighborhood to give back in the best way they knew how, with their Christmas display.

The displays include a 280 pound reindeer, characters from Frozen and much more.

"The neighbors in-between and around us they all started adding a little bit here and there and so the whole area with Steve's and mine it's about 650 feet," says John Wagner.

People who come by have the option to give money or food to the Martin family.

"We had never done any collection what so ever before then we were gonna start collecting for the food bank this year and then this accident happened to Tim Martin in September," says Steve Tomash.

So far, they have already been able to give the family 90 pounds of food and around $500.

Heather Martin says it's much appreciated, "I am very appreciative of all that the community is doing for my family. The family and friends our family has are wonderful and helping in every way possible. Our co-workers have helped tremendously as well. I want everyone to know that we appreciate it all," she told KWWL.
