Waterloo East, Iowa State legend Jerry Moses dies

Posted: Updated:

Jerry Moses, one of the biggest contributors to the success of the Waterloo East football program in the 1960's and 70's, has died at the age of 65.

Moses played a role in the Trojans seven year unbeaten streak, racking up 56 touchdown runs, while twice being named a first team all-state running back.

He continued his career at Iowa State under Johnny Majors. His college career was cut short by injuries, but Moses later returned to Ames and graduated with a degree in 1984. Two of his sons, Milan and J.J., followed in his footsteps as football stand-outs for both the Trojans and the Cyclones. J.J. Moses went on to a professional career with the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs.
