Posted: Updated:

After growing concern, some answers.

One eastern Iowa fire station is working to improve communication between firefighters and city leaders.

The president of the Cedar Falls Firefighters Association, Jim Cook, says some Cedar Falls firefighters have been frustrated.

They feel that important decisions are being made that affect them, but no one is talking to them about the changes. Firefighters are trying to figure out why that is.

After Cedar Falls Fire Chief Schilling left, firefighters didn't know finalists for a new fire chief were chosen until the media released information.

They also didn't know about a possible new location for their new public safety building.

Cook says he and the Cedar Falls Mayor Brown met a few weeks ago to work on improving communication between the city and firefighters.

They agreed it was a very positive, constructive meeting. They plan on having more meetings in the future. They believe a change will happen, it just may take some time.
