Hawkeyes defeat Nebraska 40-10

Today was senior day at Kinnick Stadium for the Iowa Hawkeyes, but Junior Akrum Wadley made his moves early.

Wadley made a cut to get loose and run 75 yards for the first points of the game. The Hawkeyes led 6-0 against the Huskers until a minute and 27 seconds later. CJ Beathard drilled the ball to the middle to a cross for Riley McCarron, a senior, for a 77-yard touchdown pass.

 Ahead 13-0, LeShun Daniels got help from Ike Buttger of Cedar Falls to get past Nebraska linebacker Dedrick Young for 56 yards. Two plays later, Daniels' hard work paid off when he scored a touchdown for the Hawkeyes.

At halftime Iowa led 20-3 against Nebraska.

Iowa began the second half in full-force. The Hawkeyes scored the first touchdown of the second half to lead 26-3.

Nebraska Cornhuskers scored their first touchdown in the third quarter to trial Iowa 26-10.

Iowa's George Kittle was a key player of the game, scoring two touchdowns for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa scored the final touchdown of the game with 1:55 left in play to defeat the Cornhuskers 40-10.

Other key players: Iowa running backs LeShun Daniels and Akrum Wadley each ran for more than 100 yards. Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard completed 10 of 15 passes for 144 yards and three scores.
