74 seniors must move when Waterloo assisted living facility closes

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo's Ridgeway Place told its residents yesterday that they will be closing in February.

They say the 74 seniors living in the assisted living facility will have to move.

The Ridgeway Place administrator says they will help residents find alternative housing. They are planning on hosting an open house.

The assistant living facility sent a statement to KWWL:
"Our primary concern is our residents' well-being. Yesterday we did announce to residents and staff that Ridgeway Place would be closing in February 2017. In an effort to provide ongoing support and information regarding the relocation process for residents of Ridgeway Place, we will host an open house where residents and family members may meet with representatives of other assisted living and continuum of care communities, gather materials, resources, and receive a detailed summary of the transition process. I am unable to provide you more information at this time."
