Iowa gas prices drop ahead of Thanksgiving holiday

Gas prices in Iowa have fallen 2.1 cents per gallon in the past week to an average of $2.07 a gallon Sunday.

GasBuddy reports the national average has fallen 1.7 cents per gallon to $2.13 a gallon.

Prices Sunday in Iowa were 6.1 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and are 12.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. During the last month, the national average has fallen 8.6 cents per gallon.

GasBuddy finds prices in the region as follows:


Quad Cities- $1.97/g, down 2.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.00/g.
Des Moines- $2.20/g, up 1.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.18/g.
Omaha- $2.09/g, down 3.3 cents per gallon from last week's $2.12/g.
