Two dogs rescued in house fire

Fire crews responded to a house fire at 2517 First Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

A man in his sixties was transported to a nearby hospital, according to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.

Crews put the fire out in ten minutes and rescued two dogs from the second floor of the home.

The people living there were outside when the fire department arrived on scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
