Good evening I'm Rick Coleman here with UNI Head football coach Mark Farley. The Panthers are coming off a huge road win at Western Illinois 30-23.

Coach it was a great effort by your team to go there and beat a very explosive team.

Coach Farley: It was it was a big win at that time--they are ranked 18th in the country--that is two road wins in a row its hard to do and a great accomplishment for our team.

Rick: You jumped on them quick I know they scored late in the fourth quarter but by then the game was pretty much decided...

Coach Farley: Yes we took the opening drive down we decided to take the football--offense did a tremendous job driving the field for the score and set the tone for the game..and even in the second half drove the field on the first possession and scored the offense is really is improving.

Rick: Second straight road win really important win. Now you come home and face South Dakota State ranked number 8 in the country...beat North Dakota State earlier in the year they have a great quarterback in Tarrion Christion who averages three hundred yards and three touchdowns a game---has yard receivers--it will be a tough test.

Coach Farley: It will be a really tough test its exactly the type of team we need to play this late in the season if we want to go to the playoffs.. We get them at home--great football team. Offensively they are tremendous best in the league--they went to North Dakota State and beat them so they are use to winning in a tough environment.. so we will have to play a tough football game.

Rick Coleman They are playing for a conference championship so they have something to play for.

Coach Farley: They are playing for an automatic berth. The playoff brackets can not be set until this game is over. Should South Dakota State win they will be one of the top 4 seeds if they don't win and we are fortunate enough to win ---we are in the discussion of getting in and yet they drop in the polls. Its a game that is going to be watched by many---including the committee.

Rick And certainly the committee you are looking to convince them you deserve to be in obviously you need to win--Once thing you said a few weeks ago--Win November and that's not just a statement it is a way of life. The Panthers are 49-8 under Mark Farley at UNI in the month of November.

Mark: You want to be strong at the end of your season because that when you go into the playoffs--so that has always been an emphasis I always want to train my team to get them peaking at the right time and you want to peak at then d of the season and we better be peaking because South Dakota State will be ready.

Rick: And you get them ready the guys have that mental mindset that November is here the most important games of the season are here the games that get you into the playoffs and further.

Mark That's the toughest the we try to teach the end of the day is when you have to be at your toughest when you want to relax and your opponent wants to relax that's when you have to refocus and get back in tune and that's the toughness you need.

Rick: Big Showdown in the dome Saturday night--actually Saturday afternoon at four gives fans a chance to tailgate before--big game for the Panthers good luck coach.

Coach Farley Thank you
