DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque Police say more than $30,000 was stolen from a Dubuque home sometime last week.

On Tuesday, they took a report of that money missing from a home on Woodland Ridge.

The owner, Ronald Pothoff, says his family was in Florida at the time, but says a neighbor called to tell him it looked as though his back door had been forced open.

He says cash and silver dollars given to him by his father were among the items missing.

Some of the missing items were taken out of a safe that was bolted to the floor and hidden, Pothoff said.

Most of the jewelry they own is with them in Florida, but says there may be some antique pieces missing.

The theft is still under investigation.
