Boy inspires new organization helping foster families in Iowa

Restoring dignity.

A foster baby is the inspiration behind an organization that's spreading across Iowa.

Grundy County mom Kristle Davis was a foster kid. She grew up to become a foster parent.

When a baby showed up at her front door, she decided to make a change.

That moment reminded Kristle what it was like when she was in the foster system.

"My first few foster homes that I went to, I literally had a couple changes of clothes and that is it," she said.

She started Kadens Kloset, giving free clothes and supplies to foster and adoptive families.

All the clothes are brand new or barely used.

A new Kadens Kloset just opened up at Trinity Lutheran in Waterloo last month.

All the items in the closets are donated by people in the community. There are currently eight locations across Iowa, and it's still growing.

The 100 plus men and women who care group just  donated around 19 thousand dollars to Kadens Kloset.
