MACOMB, Ill. (KWWL) -

Quarterback Eli Dunne returned to the lineup and threw a pair of touchdowns as UNI kept their playoff hopes alive with a critical 30-23 win at 19th ranked Western Illinois. Dunne missed his last start due to concussion symptoms suffered the prior week against North Dakota State.

The Panther defense also held the Leathernecks out of the end zone for the first 40 minutes of the game allowing the offense to build a 20-3 third quarter lead.

UNI put it away in the fourth with Michael Malloy's second rushing touchdown of the game and a Sam Drysdale 21-yard field goal.

Dunne threw for 209 yards, completing 19 of 27 pass attempts. Malloy led the Panthers on the ground rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

UNI hosts South Dakota State in a week to end the regular season.
