MANCHESTER (KWWL) -

For the first time, Dental Associates of Manchester offers free dental work to veterans.

Keep in mind, veterans don't always get the respect and support they deserve.

The dental group decided to change that trend to show how much they appreciate veterans, especially on Veterans Day.

Dr. Timothy Collier, Dr. Gordon Goettsh, Dr. Zachary Stecklein, Dr. Ryan Oetken, and the rest of the team offered free cleanings, checkups, and treatment to veterans, like Judy Ellingson.

"It was like a gift. It was like one of the best gifts I've received in a long time, especially for a veteran. So, that was great," Ellingson said.

Judy Ellingson says she served during the Vietnam era, and she said the free treatment shows how much people care.

"I think we're becoming more and more appreciated. We weren't initially appreciated, but now I think it's becoming more evident, and I think it's great. It's great for our children and grandchildren to see and develop this loyalty again to our nation. I think we're deprived of that. So, we need to see that more and more," Ellingson said.

Doctors say they saw more than 55 patients Veterans Day while offering more than $8,500 in treatment.

They said the pleasure was all there's.

"I have family members who have served. So, it's truly an honor to give back to them. So, we're humbled by that," Dr. Collier said.

According to doctors at Dental Associates of Manchester, they plan to continue the free service for vets on Veterans Day next year.

Doctors said they got the idea from a dental group out of Michigan.
