Disaster proclamation extended following September flooding

Governor Branstad is extending the disaster proclamation for 25 counties impacted by heavy flooding in September.  Those affected can apply for grant money through the Iowa Individuals Assistance Program until December 7.

The counties included are Allamakee, Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Cedar, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Howard, Jones, Linn, Louisa, Mitchell, Muscatine, Story, Winneshiek, Worth, and Wright.

The program gives grants of up to $5,000 for homes with incomes up to 200 percent of the current  federal property level, or a max annual income of $40,320 for a family of three.  Grants are available for home or car repairs, clothing or food, and temporary housing.
