Police in Winneshiek County say they've charged a man after he's accused of crashing his car while intoxicated last week.

65-year-old Gerald Carlson, of Decorah, is accused of driving off Highway 52 and running into a tree on November 4 at approximately 4:43 p.m. Police say Carlson had two children in the car with him at the time of the crash, both of whom were treated for minor injuries. Carlson was not hurt.

Police arrested Carlson on charges of Operating While Under the Influence and Child Endangerment. He's since bonded out of the Winneshiek County Jail.
