Iowa gas prices fall about 2 cents in past week

Drivers' patience at the pump might be paying off. Gas prices in Iowa have fallen 2.4 cents per gallon in the past week to roughly $2.16 a gallon.

GasBuddy finds the national average has increased 0.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.21 a gallon.

Prices Sunday are reporting 17.8 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and 5.3 cents a gallon lower than one month ago.

According to GasBuddy's latest report, prices in the area are as follows:


Quad Cities- $2.02/g, down 4.0 cents per gallon from last week's $2.06/g.
Des Moines- $2.35/g, down 0.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.35/g.
Omaha- $2.21/g, down 1.7 cents per gallon from last week's $2.23/g.
