Iowa State Troopers are reminding drivers to be on the lookout for deer this fall.

According to the Iowa State Patrol Facebook page, a driver hit a deer on Monday in Muscatine County, and the animal came through the driver's windshield.

Fortunately, the driver wasn't injured, but the Honda Element's windshield and roof were damaged.

At last check, the State Patrol's Facebook page got more than 600 Facebook Likes, 140 comments, and nearly 3,000 shares in a matter of three days.

According to AAA, drivers should be especially attentive from sunset to midnight and during the hours shortly before and after sunrise of deer.

Experts say these are the highest risk times for deer-vehicle collisions.
