Eastern Iowans showing their support for local police officers

Posted: Updated:

When these attacks on law enforcement happen all over our country.

We've seen so many people reach out and show their support for their officers in eastern Iowa.

While many of us are just starting our day, many working in law enforcement have been up all night protecting us.

They're working the third shift, the same shift as the two officers who were murdered in Iowa yesterday.

This is a tragedy that's weighing heavily on everyone's minds.

Many people across eastern Iowa have been reaching out and showing their support.

Just a few examples: Clear Creek Amana Middle School send a basket of food to the Johnson County Sheriff's office.

People gave the Cedar County Sheriff's Office soup. Someone dropped off donuts at the Independence Police Station.

An Oelwein Police Car had flowers and balloons placed on it.

Many area police departments are also showing their support. Officers are wearing bands on their badges to mourn those who were killed.
