Police search for suspect in McDonald's robbery

Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a McDonald's in Iowa City around 10:00 a.m. today. 

The Johnson County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a robbery at the McDonald's restaurant located at 2440 Mormon Trek Blvd in Iowa City. 

The Iowa City Police Department reports that a man entered the business, approached the cashier and made a demand for money. The suspect then escaped northbound with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapons were displayed during this incident and no injuries were reported. 

The suspect is described as a bald male, mid-to-late 40s, wearing a brown coat, sunglasses, blue jeans and black t-shirt. 

This report remains under investigation. Police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying and locating the suspect or the suspect's associates. 

Additionally, the Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects.
