With the General Election just one week away, Donald Trump Jr. made a campaign stop on Tuesday in the battleground state of Iowa.

In the crowd, supporters wearing "Make America Great Again" hats.  Donald Jr. spoke on the very idea.

"We have the opportunity to steer this ship clear," said Donald Jr.

Donald Jr. reiterating his father's slogan "drain the swamp," referring to groups of politicians in Washington D.C.

Trump supporters echoed that very message.

"Someone that's not been in the establishment is very appealing to me," said Trump supporter Paul Hahn. "He's not beholden to the lobbyists and all those big money groups."

Donald Jr. made a push to engage students at the University of Northern Iowa to get out and vote before Election day.

"We have an opportunity to put someone in D.C. who is not a politician," said Donald Jr.

Donald Jr. went on to apologize to the students, saying they're the ones that have to deal with what the Trump campaign refers to as a "mess in Washington."

Donald Jr. also went on to criticize his father's opponent, Hillary Clinton.

One UNI student was even accompanied by her father, who's also a Trump supporter. Both said they felt it was important to hear what Trump's son had to say about his father.

"I would reflect how my parents raised me and who they are," said UNI student Sydney Lundgren. "And his kids represent him very well. So just to hear someone who's not him."

Donald Jr. also campaigned at Iowa State University's campus earlier today.
