For a second straight week, Simpson College punter and wide receiver, junior Nathan Hawkins, has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

The former Solon High School star averaged 49-yards a punt, and kicked  a 70-yarder, second longest in Simpson football history.

Nathan also had punts of 61 and 52 yards. Five of his nine punts landed inside the Nebraska Wesleyan 20-yard line in a 24-22 loss.

Just a week earlier, Hawkins got his first start as the Storm punter, in a 30-0 victory over Loras College.

He became the first Simpson player to be named to the D3football.com Team of the Week since 2008, when Adam Reutzel earned the honor in week four of that season.

Against Loras, Nathan averaged a school-record 52.7 yards on six punts, and had a 66-yard punt, 5th longest in Simpson history.

His performance against Loras earned Nathan Hawkins IIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
