Halloween pedestrian safety

Many kids will be out and about tonight, going door-to-door to trick-to-treat.

It's an exciting time, but more children are injured on Halloween than any other day of the year.

Parents should be sure to speak to their children about looking out for cars while trick-or-treating.

It's also a good idea for kids to have reflective tape or stickers on their costumes or trick-or-treat bags. Flash lights and glow sticks are also helpful.

But drivers need to be responsible as well.

Put down your cell phone, slow down on neighborhood roads, and be on the look out for trick-or-treaters at intersections, medians, or on curbs.
