SAN DIEGO (AP) — Padres general manager A.J. Preller says 10 teams have inquired about players since his 30-day suspension by MLB ended, a signal that his ability to deal with other teams wasn't damaged by the unprecedented punishment.

Preller was suspended on Sept. 15 for failing to disclose medical information when All-Star lefty Drew Pomeranz was traded to the Boston Red Sox in July.

Preller says there was no intent by the Padres to deceive the Red Sox, but rather, a misunderstanding of where the team was storing medical information on players.

Preller says the Padres intend "to be best in class, to be top of the line, to be aware of what the minimum standards are and to be above that" in reporting medical information about players involved in trades.
