UPDATE: Injured man found several blocks away from house fire

One person is injured after a house fire this morning.

The Waterloo fire department responded to a fire around seven this morning. 

It happened on the 600 block of W 2nd Street. 

Waterloo fire confirmed one man is in the hospital after his face, hair and arms were burned in the fire. 

They say the injured man was found several blocks away, near 5th and Commercial Street. 

The fire department says they aren't sure where he was headed, but they took him to Allen Hospital.

His name and condition have not yet been released. The building is divided into four apartments. 

The Red Cross assisted the other people living in the building. 

The building was not destroyed by the fire, but part of it does have significant damage. 

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire.

A house fire leaves one person injured. 

The Waterloo Fire Department confirms an apartment fire happened this morning around 7:00 a.m. at 623 West Second Street in Waterloo.

One man was burned during the fire. He was found several blocks away. He was sent to a nearby hospital to be treated.

Other people who live in the apartment are not able to return to their homes at this time. 

Firefighters were able to put out the fire and are now looking at what caused it.

The Red Cross is also on the scene.
