UPDATE: 7-year-old Waterloo boy remains in critical condition after being hit by pickup

UPDATE: Waterloo Police have released the name of the little boy who was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday evening.

At last check, 7-year-old Leighton Pullin remains in critical condition. He was flown to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City with life threatening injuries.

Police say 42-year-old Chad Wildeboer was traveling north in the 700 block of West 11th Street when Leighton crossed the road, headed to a friend’s house. Waterloo Police say it appears Leighton did not look both ways before crossing the street.

No citations have been issued.

We will keep you updated when more information is made available on Leighton's condition.

The boy is in critical condition after being hit by a pickup truck.  The 7-year-old was apparently on his way to a friend's house.

The driver did stick around to help out and police believe he was not speeding.  The boy's name has not been released.
