Veterans head to Washington D.C. for honor flight

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Today around 80 veterans are heading to Washington D.C. for the 26th Eastern Iowa Honor Flight.

The veterans left early this morning, and they are expected to get back in Cedar Rapids around 10 tonight.

This is the last flight this year.

The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight posted this on their Facebook Page:

We have an estimated return back to Cedar Rapids of 10:05 PM barring any delays. Parking is free. Pick up a free parking ticket when you come into the terminal. Then when you leave, turn that ticket in at the gate along with the one you received when you came into the lot, and you are good to go. Because the lot fill up quickly, we advise you to get there by no later than around 9PM.

This is our last flight of 2016 (we will be flying again next year). Let's really turn out a crowd and welcome our heroes home!
