UPDATE WITH NAMES: Two people and two dogs found dead inside Waterloo home

Posted: Updated:

Waterloo Police have identified the victims as 33-year-old Shalynn Wellner and 29-year-old Damon Gould II.

Police are investigating if their deaths are connected to a gasoline-powered generator that was found in the garage of the home. Neighbors say they were using a generator because the home recently flooded.

Police say the two did not own the home. Neighbors tell KWWL they were watching over the home for the owner at the time of their deaths.

Autopsies were performed today.

Two people and two dogs were found dead inside a Waterloo home Sunday morning.

Waterloo police were called to the house at 4011 E. Shaulis Road shortly after 10 a.m. after someone found the two unresponsive inside.

Waterloo police say no foul play is suspected and autopsies are planned to determine what happened.

Police say they were investigating the possibility that the deaths may be linked to a generator that was found inside the attached garage.

Their names are not being released at this time.
