CHICAGO (KWWL) -

Miguel Montero blasted an 8th grand slam in to the right field bleachers to break a 3-3 tie and power the Cubs to an 8-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in game one of the NLCS.

The heroics came after Los Angeles tied the game in top of the inning. With the Cubs leading 3-1, Adrian Gonzalez drove a base hit up the middle off of Aroldis Chapman to score a pair of runs. Chapman entered the game with the bases loaded and no outs and struck out the first two batters prior to Gonzalez' game-tying hit.

Chapman earned the win as the pitcher of record when Chicago took the lead. Cubs starter Jon Lester got a no-decision after giving up just one run in six innings of work.

Chicago takes a 1-0 series lead in to game two at 7:00 pm, Sunday night.
