This man -- 48-year-old Jimmy McDaniel is under arrest -- accused of killing his girlfriend.

Officers say it happened in Bridgeport Township. That's just outside Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

They were called to a home on Velvet Lane after midnight on Wednesday.

When they got there, officers say they found the body of 55-year-old Linda  Kline. She was on the ground outside the home.

Authorities say Kline's boyfriend, McDaniel was at the home. Her sister was also inside.

After an autopsy, doctors ruled Kline's death a homicide.

It seems McDaniel tried to leave Wisconsin the following day. Police arrested him in the lobby of an area hotel. They say he was planning on catching a flight to the state of Georgia.

McDaniel was waiting for a ride to take him to La Crosse Airport, but he didn't get away. He's now at the Crawford County Jail awaiting a bond hearing on charges.

We should know more information about this incident soon. Authorities say they plan of releasing more details next week.
