Good evening I am Rick Coleman here with UNI head football coach Mark Farley. The Panthers coming off a huge 42-21 victory over Southern Illinois on Homecoming last week at the UNI-Dome and coach it was a complete game by your team on both sides of the football.

Mark Farley: I was pleased with the progress over the two weeks, offense defense and special teams got a lot better. And I thought Aaron threw the ball better and our defense was good.

Rick Coleman: The defense was good very opportunistic forcing three turnovers and not only did they force turnovers but you got points out of the turnovers.

Mark Farley: Well we did and that early one--we got that fumble and turned that into points... and late right before halftime that interception for a touchdown was really a momentum swing.

Rick Coleman: You did some great tweaking during the bye week---talk about the little things that were done with the team

Mark: We just moved a couple of personnel around just minor things as well as putting some speed at different positions to try and create some problems for their defense...but more so I think our players put it upon theirs elves to get better to fine tune the technique and the fundamentals--instead of just drawing up plays getting fundamentally better.

Rick: And we saw that throughout the course of the game the guys were definitely in tuned to what was going on... the defense complimented the offense and the special teams played better..

Mark: And they did and I tell you what a big part of that was how the team approached it.. that's what I was so pleased about the didn't know we were going to look like on Saturday--but just the approach I really felt good about.

Rick: Missouri Valley Football Conference always tough... Now you go on the road to Vermillion, SD to face South Dakota..coached by Bob Nielson a guy familiar to the people here in Eastern Iowa. Coached at Wartburg College... Also coached at Minnesota-Duluth where he won a National title.. Western Illinois and Now making the transition in one year to South Dakota

Mark: Well there's a lot of people who Bob and the one thing you know about Bob is detail. Very detailed oriented person. He will know everything about us--tendency wise. He'll have a great plan put together---it's all about our execution...

Rick: I know you've looked at tape on them--the games they have played this year-- they lost a tough double overtime game on the road and they lost to Youngstown State to open the Valley season--so you kind of know based on the personnel he has this year--you talked a little about his coaching philosophy..

Mark: Well we know he brought a team in here last year--Western Illinois and he beat us last year.. And they did some great things to advantage of our plan...he's a guy who can take a good team and make them a great team because schematically he's very good.

Rick: And they're always tough at home--you've gone up there and had some very tough games... you have had some tough battles with South Dakota

Mark: Yeah and its their homecoming now--so we go into the Lion's Den. They're the ones who have the large crowd--noise will be a factor because we are playing in a domed stadium like ours but its the next step the next step of this team growing and we need to improve.

Rick: I know the team has shown it can go on the road and do great thing like it started out at Iowa State now have to go on the road again and win a big one.

Mark: Consistency --you know we went to Iowa State and got the win but then didn't get it done the next weekend. So now the next goal for this team and we be consistent in our growth and be a better team on Saturday..

Rick: Good Luck this week going to take on the Coyotes--the Panthers face the Coyotes in the second game of the MVFC Season--Good Luck Coach!1.. Thank You
