UPDATE: Police identify man arrested in shots fired incident in Dubuque

UPDATE:

Police have identified the man arrested Tuesday afternoon after they responded to a shots fired call in the 500 block of West Eighth Street.

21-year-old Steven Burrell was arrested on an out of state warrant from Illinois for a probation violation and taken to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center.

He was charged with reckless use of a firearm.

Police say shell casings were found in the area of West Eighth Street/Hill Street and 543 West Eighth Street. One vehicle parked on the street was hit by one bullet.

No injuries were reported.

Dubuque Police say one person has been arrested after a shots fired incident in the 500 block of West Eighth Street this afternoon.

Police say there was damage to some property and shell casings found in the area.

They say they hope to release more information Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating a report of shots fired on West Eighth Street near Hill Street in Dubuque Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses say they heard yelling back and forth before they heard shots ring out.

Police were seen interviewing a number of people at the scene, which was immediately surrounded with caution tape.
