Several places are joining the community resource centers for Iowa flooding

Several places are joining the community resource centers for Iowa flooding. These places will join the American Red Cross and Salvation Army to help those impacted by flooding in norther and eastern Iowa.

Today and tomorrow, October 5th, the Cedar Falls Fire Station #2 will be open at 722 W. Lone Tree Road in Cedar Falls from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 6th and Friday, October 7th, Waverly Civic Center at 20 1st Street NE in Waverly will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday, it will be open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

People can find information about recovery plans and receive assistance at the locations. There will be cleanup kits, bleach, mops, shovels, rakes, DampRid, flash lights, dust masks, trash bags, tarps, totes, food, and water.

Healthcare workers will also be there to assist with minor medical needs as well as mental health workers to provide emotional support and coping strategies.
