Dubuque mother pleads guilty to charges after toddler shoots himself

An Iowa mother pleads guilty to charges after her toddler shoots himself in the face.  26-year-old Raven Harris, of Dubuque, pleading guilty to two state charges of child endangerment.  

Her then two-year-old, Jeremiah Horsley, was found with gunshot wounds inside their home in January.  

According to court documents, Harris and Jeremiah's father, Willie Horsley, Sr. left a gun in their bedroom, and their children were playing with it when it went off.  The boy was rushed to the hospital and did survive.  

The two previously admitted to owning the gun in federal court.  Horsley also faces child endangerment charges.  His trial is expected to begin Oct. 31.

Harris' sentence is set for Nov. 28.
