Pedestrian critical after being struck by car

One person is in critical condition after getting hit by a car in Cedar Falls.

Around 2 a.m. on Saturday, multiple agencies were dispatched to the area of Hwy 57 and Roosevelt St on a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Officers say 24-year-old Tristin Selby had been walking in the traveled section of eastbound Hwy 57 and was struck by a car driven by 23 year old Michael Kelly.

Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Michael Kelly for 1st Offense Operating While Intoxicated.  He was transported to the Black Hawk County Jail.

Tristin Selby suffered serious injuries and was transported to Unity Point - Allen Hospital in Waterloo before being transferred to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for treatment of his injuries.  Selby is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.
