Donald Trump political sign stolen from yard, owner offering cash reward leading to arrest & conviction

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A group of people up to no good.

Dubuque's street cameras catches five men stealing a Donald Trump political sign from a front yard.

The owner of the sign, Paul Kern is very vocal with how upset he is. "My private property was stolen from my house...no different if it were your television or outside gas grill," he said.

This happened on Saturday at one o'clock in the morning by Grandview Avenue and Dodge Street.

The 4x8 foot sign was not an official campaign sign. It was homemade, declaring support for Trump.

"There's five...one that goes to the south, one that goes to the north, there's actually three of them that come across to steal the sign and for whatever reason, one of them decides he's gonna go back on the other side of the street," added Kern.

Just a couple days later a new sign has been posted up, but it's already tampered with. It's damaged, being held together by tape.

Kern says this isn't the proper way for others to express their position on political candidates. "They have a way of doing that. They can put their own signs up, they can go knock on doors. I'm just mad my private property was stolen from my house," he said.

Kern says this is lack of respect for personal property, but also an attack on free speech.

He wants those involved to be caught, so he's offering a $500 cash reward for their arrest and conviction.

He's asking those with information to reach out to him through Facebook.

Dubuque Police Department is aware of the incident.
