CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Water levels in the Cedar River continue to fall, meaning many are now shifting their focus to cleaning up.

Ted Morrill was only able to get back into his house Tuesday, after the water finally receded enough.

The pile of flood damaged stuff in front of his house growing as they continue to empty the basement.

"It's not as bad as it was in '08. '08 we had four feet in the basement, this time we only had two feet. So what you're seeing here in mostly junk. We got rid of most of it in '08," Morrill said.

It's a long process, but Morrill says he has plenty of help.

"It means tons, everything in the world. I couldn't do it by myself that's for sure," he said.

Water still covers a lot of roads in the North Cedar neighborhoods, but finally have receded enough for Dennis Carlo to begin a very long cleanup process.

"Oh it's hard to say...days, weeks, just depends, there's a lot to do," he said.

Cleanup kits are still available from the Red Cross.  You can pick them up at Fire Station #1 in Waterloo or the Living Water Church in Cedar Falls.
