CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids announces it will extend hours to its Urgent Care centers on Monday and Tuesday in anticipation of flooding-related service.

MercyCare Urgent Care is extending the hours for its MercyCare North (Council Road) and South (Edgewood Road) locations to 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday.

A hospital spokesperson also says all Mercy clinics, departments and services will remain open during the ongoing flooding, but suggests patients and visitors to use alternate routes as a precaution over the next few days. Coming from the east, all roads coming from the east to Mercy remain open, but there is limited access on 8th Avenue in front of Lundy Pavilion to one lane. From the west, bridges over 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 16th Avenue are restricted for emergency use only, but people accessing the hospital can use I-380 to the 7th Street exit.
