Mandatory evacuations in the city of Palo

Officials with Linn County Emergency Management say mandatory evacuations are taking place in the city of Palo.

This is currently happening in the Southeast corner of the town. About 80 homes are impacted by these evacuations.

A Red Cross shelter has been established at the Cedar Hills Community Church at 6455 E Ave NW in Cedar Rapids. The shelter will be opening at 11:00 a.m.
