Barnstable, Massachusetts (KWWL) -

A dispatcher is not sure what's going on when a woman calls 911 to report a hit-and-run. From another country.

OFFICER: So, you've called the Barnstable (Massachusetts) Police Department.

CALLER: Yeah.

OFFICER: In Massachusetts.

CALLER: Massachusetts?

OFFICER: Yes, Massachusetts.

CALLER: There's no way you can help me then, is there?

OFFICER: Where exactly are you calling from?

CALLER: England.

OFFICER: Yeah.

The caller said she used a digital assistant, similar to Siri and that may have led to the mix-up.

She was calling about a hit-and-run in Barnstaple, England when she was connected to police in Barnstable, Massachusetts.

The two had a good laugh when the officer said their response time might be 6 hours.
