"GOOD EVENING, and welcome to the Mark Farley interview..I am here with the UNI head football coach Mark Farley--the Panthers coming off a very tough 20-14 loss in week number two to Montana. A game that you definitely had some opporutinites coach.

Mark Farley "We had plenty of opportunities--there was a punt return at the end that was the difference in the game, but we had our opportunites in the red zone and that is what we needed to do."

Rick Coleman "Held Montana, usually and explosive offense to less that 200 yards of total offense--also they didn't score at all in the second half--and there were some opportunities...

Mark Farley "Again I thought our defense after the first series settled in and made a couple of adjustments and shut them out the rest of the game--We had our opportunities to gain good field position because of the defensive play...we just couldn't score the points needed...You have to learn from everything you have to learn from the wins and the losses. And this is one that on offense there are many things we could have done better and then special teams wise. I think that is the thing the defense--happy about how they played defensively--but they owned the fourth down and when I say that they owned the special teams--the punt returns--the kickoff returns they are owned by the defense. So it doesn't matter what happens, negatively, it happens to us all. Whether you played well or not it happens to your team."

Rick Coleman "Now another top ten matchup for the Panthers, this time on the road at a very very good Eastern Washington squad, number 8 in the country with a very explosive offense--we got a look at them last year at the Dome. "

Mark Farley "We did, they come into the Dome and we beat them last year...so now we get a chance to go to their first home game so now they have the advantage of playing at home and we have to take what we learned from last week and take it on the road and we have to be a great road team now and find a way to win this week."

Rick Coleman "Cooper Kupp one of the most outstanding players in FCS Football ..Won offensive play of the year award the last three years---won the Jerry Rice Award his freshman season--the Walter Payton award last year--a very dynamic player.."

Mark Farley "He's a great football player--he's so fast--he runs great routes--great hands. He's just hard to defend. I have seen people double him --I saw Oregon try to defend him and he still got 200 yards."

Rick Coleman " And Gage Gubrood comes in as their quarterback and he has done a nice job so far this season --nearly a thousand yards passing in two games and 9 touchdowns."

Mark Farley "The key to that for me is that he has played two good defenses.. first Washington State's defense and then North Dakota State's defense.

Sometimes you look at stats its who they play. He has played quality numbers and put up big numbers. We are going to have another good plan I thought our secondary played well and we had good pocket pressure--on our defensive line. And we are going to have to get in the legs of the quarterback and do a great job of covering down field... We will fly out Friday morning about eleven there is a time change of course so we will have to adapt to the clock but its more important that we get ready to play and not worry about a red field or time difference--its about getting lined up and playing football again.."

Rick Coleman "Another top ten matchup for the Panthers-- Eastern Washington number eight in the country and the tenth ranked Northern Iowa Panthers---Good Luck out there--out West Coach. Thank You...Thank You."
