One person is dead after driving off the road, falling 250 feet. It happened in the 1500 block of Highway 52 in Jackson County, about eight miles south of Bellevue.
The sheriff's office says the driver left the roadway, hitting multiple trees on the way down, eventually stopping against a large tree. The driver was killed at the scene.
The victim's name is not being released, pending notification of family members. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
