The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Cedar Rapids.

According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, the shooting happened at Valley High Apartments on Edgewood Road around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Officers say they responded to a domestic disturbance.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital. KWWL has confirmed he was shot by police. The State Medical Examiner is scheduled to do an autopsy.

At this time, DCI is not releasing details about the moments leading up to the shooting. We know two Cedar Rapids officers have been placed on leave, which is standard procedure during an officer-involved shooting.

DCI is currently doing interviews with witnesses.
