(AP) -

A Des Moines woman has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty last month to two vehicular homicide counts for causing a crash that killed two men.

It was the maximum that 54-year-old Deanna Marie Gliem could have received when she was sentenced Friday.

Gliem was arrested after the Nov. 17 crash on Des Moines' east side that killed 63-year-old Richard Hummel and 59-year-old Randall Sonnenburg.

Police determined Gliem was driving 73 mph in an area with a 35 mph speed limit when she crashed into the car driven by Hummel.

Sonnenburg died at the scene, and Hummel died at a hospital.

Gliem initially faced four vehicular homicide counts, with two related to drunken driving and two related to reckless driving.
